Is my PDF uploaded to Caspenda?
No. Protect PDF processes the file locally in your browser. The PDF and password are not sent to a Caspenda document-processing server.
What encryption does Protect PDF use?
Protect PDF V1 uses AES-256 encryption and sets a password required to open the exported PDF.
What are the password requirements?
Use at least 6 characters. Letters, numbers and symbols are supported, and the strength indicator is guidance rather than a forced complexity rule.
Can Caspenda recover a forgotten password?
No. Caspenda does not store or recover your password. Keep the original PDF and remember the password you choose.
